In a letter addressed to the Chair of the Monitoring Committee for the Payroll of State Employees and Civil Servants, the Minister of Primary, Secondary and Technical Education (EPST), Professor Tony Mwaba Kazadi, invited all stakeholders in the expenditure chain, as well as the Directors General of IFOD and EQUITY BCDC, to attend a meeting he will chair this Thursday, January 25, 2024, in his office. The goal is to find urgent solutions to the disruption of instruction in schools whose payroll is managed by IFOD.
"Teachers working in schools and administrative offices whose salaries are paid by IFOD have accumulated several months of unpaid wages and operating expenses without a definitive solution having been found to this situation," wrote the Minister of EPST.
Professor Tony Mwaba Kazadi emphasized: "These arrears are leading to temporary work stoppages and the need to rely on parents to cover unpaid salaries and operating costs."
To address this alarming situation, which negatively impacts the quality of education and the reform of free primary education, the head of the EPST has urgently convened an important meeting to be held this Thursday in his office.
"In order to identify definitive solutions to resolve this persistent problem that threatens free primary education and even the quality of instruction provided to students, I invite you to attend a meeting to which I also ask you to invite stakeholders in the expenditure chain as well as the Directors General of IFOD and EQUITY BCDC," concluded Professor Tony Mwaba.
