KIMBONZA SEFU Hubert

Inspector General, appointed by the Minister of State, Minister of National Education and New Citizenship (EDU-NC), on 11 October 2024.

Overview

The General Inspectorate of Education has been part of the structuring of the national education administration since the first post-independence reforms.
It was formalised to safeguard quality, compliance and equity of the education system across the country.
Strengthened through successive reforms, it now combines evaluation, support for education stakeholders and modernisation of inspection practices, as a strategic lever for education governance.

Main activities of the General Inspectorate of Education

A set of structuring actions to guide governance and improve teaching quality.

School diagnostics

Assess the actual situation of secondary schools based on inspections conducted by regional education managers and school heads.

Essential pedagogical instructions

Develop official guidance for regional education inspectors, school heads and secondary school teachers.

School oversight

Develop a consolidated set of technical principles for organising the school oversight system.

Mapping real needs

Map needs and available capacities for inspection (staffing, logistics, etc.).

Structured national evaluation

Design the assessment systems for the State examination.

The Inspectorate corps

It is responsible for overseeing and promoting national education in the pre-primary, primary, secondary and vocational streams, as well as school-based education.

Ensuring schools run properly
Inspectors ensure that each school operates according to established pedagogical, administrative and logistical guidelines.
Organising juries and pedagogical evaluation
These evaluations aim to align teaching practices with national requirements.
Observing, training and evaluating teaching staff
Schools are visited regularly to ensure compliance with national education standards and sound supervision.
Conducting regular school visits
Carry out regular visits to ensure compliance with national education standards and proper supervision.
