Since Wednesday, May 17, was a national holiday, the head of Primary, Secondary and Technical Education (EPST), Professor Tony Mwaba Kazadi, conducted his weekly inspection tour on Thursday, May 18, 2023, accompanied by the Secretary General of EPST, the Inspector General of EPST, the National Director of DINACOPE, and several members of his cabinet. The minister visited the buildings under construction at the Education Radio and Television (RTEDUC) and the new premises built at the Ministry’s Communication Management Directorate (DGC), the two departments specializing in communication within the EPST.

In total, Minister Tony Mwaba visited three buildings under construction and was reassured that the work was proceeding smoothly. According to RTEDUC Chief Director Guy Shungu, the first building will serve as a training room meeting standards with modern facilities facilitating remote work and videoconferences with other departments. The second will house the technical laboratory, and the third is an extension of the staff offices.

At the same time, the head of the EPST symbolically presented the RTEDUC Chief of Staff with a new microwave link that will enable the education-themed channel to broadcast programs remotely.

The second stop on the visit was the recently constructed buildings at the DGC. Director-General Jean-Jeff Mwanza showed Minister Tony Mwaba the new offices, which will allow staff and managers in his department to work in optimal conditions.

Pleased with the dynamism demonstrated by the two young executives in his ministry, the head of the EPST pledged his support to Jean-Jeff Mwanza and his colleague, Director Guy Shungu.

“All we can do, given this goodwill that has just been demonstrated, is to see to what extent we can encourage these initiatives and provide even greater financial support to the two departments, because both Directors are capable of making good use of these resources and fulfilling their accountability obligations, as we have just seen,” the minister stated.

To combine business with pleasure, the Minister of EPST concluded his visit at the TMK Garden, established on the initiative of Director Guy Shungu to honor him, where a small cocktail reception was held for the minister and his entire delegation.
