On Wednesday, August 2, 2023, the Annual Performance Review meetings began in all educational provinces. In the Lukunga educational province, in the capital city of Kinshasa, Director Jean Pierre Yoy Bokete officially opened the proceedings at the Turquoise International School in Gombe. According to him, these sessions are intended to evaluate the 2022–2023 school year and set the direction for the 2023–2024 school year, sparing no effort to ensure the implementation of the decisions made by the Ministry of Education to ensure a smooth start to the new school year. “These sessions are primarily technical in nature, and together we must focus them on achieving results. Our mission will be to evaluate the performance of our EPST sub-sector, update and monitor the implementation of reforms, as well as plan for the 2023-2024 school year,” said Jean-Pierre Yoy Bokete, director of the Lukunga educational province. Earlier, he paid tribute to the Head of State “for the interest shown in the implementation of Article 43 of the Republic’s Constitution regarding free primary education” and to the minister in charge, Tony Mwaba Kazadi, “for having undertaken many reforms in the EPST sub-sector—reforms that are not merely symbolic but real.” The conference will conclude on August 4.
