Trade unionist Emery Masunga will be laid to rest at the Entre Ciel et Terre cemetery this Saturday, August 12, 2023. This information is taken from the official program released by the organizing committee on Friday. The wake took place Friday night in the Crystal Hall of Faith at the first gate of FIKIN in Kinshasa; this Saturday morning, the main part of the program will continue at the Cinquantenaire Hospital. Preparations will begin this Saturday at 9:00 a.m., after which the body will be removed from the morgue and laid in state within the grounds of the Cinquantenaire Hospital for the remainder of the funeral ceremony. As a reminder, Emery Masunga, vice president of the National Union of Teachers of Congo, passed away on Wednesday, July 6, 2023, in Kisantu, Central Kongo. He was there to participate in the work of the joint government-union committee of the Ministry of Primary, Secondary, and Technical Education (EPST) on the evaluation of the Bibwa Addendum.
