The National Primary School Graduation Exam (ENAFEP) kicked off this Thursday, June 1, across the entire Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), starting in Kisangani, where Minister Tony Mwaba Kazadi has been staying since last Wednesday. In Kinshasa, the Congolese capital, testing centers saw a rush of candidates from various schools coming to take the exams. At Sacré-Cœur High School, located in the Gombe district, some graduating students said they were satisfied with how the exams went, despite some difficulties they encountered in answering the questions. “It went well; at first it was a little difficult because I didn’t understand, but I had time to think it through and finally answer. I worked for months and months to prepare for the ENAFEP,” said student Gloire Kazadi from Boboto Middle School. “Even though there were a few difficult questions, I managed to get through them—meaning we were able to do the work. For tomorrow’s exams, I plan to prepare by reviewing and understanding my subjects so I can do well,” said student Nduku Priscille from EP 3 Bosangani. On the other hand, for candidate Espérance from EP 1 Bosangani, nothing was difficult during these exams after extensive preparation. “I prepared a long time ago; in fact, I didn’t study yesterday, and it was very easy because I already knew the material. Tomorrow, for math, I’ll just practice and memorize a few formulas,” she said with a smile. Launched today, the National Primary School Leaving Exam (ENAFEP) will conclude this Friday, June 2, except in seven educational provinces where the exams had to be postponed to Monday, June 11, and Tuesday, June 12, due to the late arrival of the test materials.
