Even as the current school year is still underway, Professor Tony Mwaba Kazadi is already looking ahead, like a visionary leader, to the coming year by signing, on Thursday, May 18, 2023, the circular setting the tuition fees for the 2023–2024 school year.

The Minister of Primary, Secondary, and Technical Education (EPST) signed the document after receiving approval from various stakeholders and educational partners during a ceremony held in the ministry’s conference room.

This document sets tuition fees for public and accredited private schools throughout the country, as well as for Congolese consular schools.

The minister’s directive prohibits the solicitation and collection of any arbitrary fees by both provincial institutions and religious denominations. The same applies to any withholding at source of “tithes,” “offerings,” “thanksgiving contributions,” or “alms” from teachers by school administrators.

It also requires that the governor’s decree setting school fees be submitted in advance to the General Secretariat of the EPST for compliance review and approval by the supervisory authority.

It should be noted that in this circular, the fees for the student ID card and report card have been maintained at 1,000 FC.
