On Monday, March 30, 2026, the Ministry of National Education and New Citizenship, through the Limete 2 Secondary Education Inspection Office, launched a training workshop for mathematics teachers focused on descriptive geometry.
This initiative aims to strengthen teaching skills in a key subfield that helps students better understand shapes, volumes, and spatial representation.
Held at Saint Raphaël Middle School in the Limete district of Kinshasa, the workshop brought together nearly 50 mathematics teachers. Participants are being trained in new teaching approaches, innovative teaching methods, and how to adapt descriptive geometry to the students’ level.
Through this workshop, the Ministry of National Education aims to improve the quality of mathematics education, considered a cornerstone of scientific training.
The initiative is part of an effort to modernize teaching practices within schools.
This forum for exchange also allows teachers and inspectors to share their professional experiences.
Indeed, discussions focus in particular on the difficulties encountered in teaching descriptive geometry, which is often perceived as complex by students. Participants are thus encouraged to pool their expertise to identify practical solutions to make this subject more accessible and understandable. The goal is to promote better knowledge transfer to students.
It is important to note that the teaching of mathematics, particularly descriptive geometry, aligns with the vision of the five-year plan of the Ministry of National Education and New Citizenship, which aims to strengthen science education and stimulate innovation and creativity among young people in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
