The Minister of Primary, Secondary, and Technical Education (EPST), Professor Tony Mwaba Kazadi, launched the 56th edition of the State Examination on Monday, June 26, 2023. The event took place during a ceremony held at the Mazarero Technical and Vocational Institute in the Katanda Territory, in the province of Kasaï-Oriental.
The Administrator of Katanda, Aaron Mbuyi Bukasa, spoke first. He welcomed the Minister of EPST and his entire delegation, thanking him for choosing his territory to launch these certification exams.
The Provincial Director of EPST Kasaï-Oriental 1, Jean Willy Momat Munga, noted that the province of Kasaï-Oriental had registered 123,592 candidates across 62 centers, including 8,124 girls.
The Minister of EPST, who spoke last, expressed his gratitude to the Head of State for the effective implementation of free primary education in public schools.
"The launch of this session once again gives us the opportunity to reiterate our thanks and our deepest respect to the President of the Republic, Félix Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo, for all his actions in support of primary, secondary, and technical education in general, and in particular for granting the Congolese nation free public primary education. This free enrollment has relieved millions of households of the burden that had weighed on their shoulders for ages," he said.
Regarding the organization of the regular session of the State Examination, Professor Tony Mwaba noted that this year, the Republic registered 1,002,806 candidates, including 411,621 girls and 591,185 boys, spread across 2,827 testing centers.
The head of the EPST added that the National Board for the Short-Term Vocational Program registered 5,447 candidates, including 1,031 girls and 4,416 boys, spread across 275 testing centers nationwide.
