Year 2023-2024: Tony Mwaba reminds governors of the urgency of setting school fees

The Minister of Primary, Secondary, and Technical Education (EPST), Professor Tony Mwaba Kazadi, has criticized provincial governors for their delay in issuing decrees setting school fees for the 2023–2024 school year, despite the issuance of his circular. He therefore urges the provincial governors to “treat his reminder letter as a matter of urgency” because, in his view, this delay “undermines the proper functioning of both public and private educational institutions.” This is the gist of his letter sent to the 26 Congolese governors on Monday, October 2, 2023. “Notwithstanding the transmission of my circular letter referenced MINEPST/CABMIN/571/2023 dated May 20, 2023, regarding guidelines on tuition fees for the 2023–2024 school year, there has been a delay in certain administrative provinces in issuing the provincial decree setting school fees,” noted the Minister of EPST. It should be noted that all provincial governors must ensure that their decrees setting school fees for this academic year comply with the aforementioned circular of May 20. Bruno Nsaka
