The Minister of Primary, Secondary, and Technical Education (EPST), Professor Tony Mwaba Kazadi, has been in Kisangani, in Tshopo Province, since Tuesday, May 30. The primary purpose of this visit is to officially launch the 2023 National Primary School Graduation Exam (ENAFEP).

On Tuesday evening, the head of the EPST arrived at Bangoka Airport in the city of Kisangani, accompanied by Secretary General Christine Nepa Nepa Kabala, Inspector General Jacques Odia Musungayi, members of his cabinet, and several senior officials and staff from his ministry. Professor Tony Mwaba Kazadi’s presence in this part of the country is due to the selection of Kisangani as the venue to launch the ENAFEP, which will take place from June 1 to 2, in accordance with the 2022–2023 school calendar.

This year, 2,119,100 candidates, including 1,020,448 girls, are expected across the entire national territory. They will be distributed among 8,232 testing centers and 2 centers outside the country’s borders, specifically in Luanda and Kabinda, Angola.

However, in an official communiqué No. MINEPST/CABMIN/TMK/003/2023 dated May 30, 2023, the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education (EPST) informs the general public and the provincial committees in particular that the National Primary School Leaving Examination has been specifically postponed to Monday, June 12, and Tuesday, June 13, 2023, for the following educational provinces: Sankuru 1, headquartered in Lodja; Sankuru 2 in Lusambo; Tshuapa 1 and 2, headquartered in Boende and Bokungu, respectively; Haut-Uélé 1 and 2 in Isiro and Watsa; and finally Bas-Uélé in Buta.

The reason for the postponement of this exam is the late arrival of the exam materials at the various designated drop-off points, although it should be noted that these materials were indeed stored at the carrier’s facility at the appropriate time.
