RAP 2023: "Validated planning for the 2023-2024 school year is expected at the end of the work" ( SG Nepa-Nepa )
The national conference for the Annual Performance Review (APR) was officially launched on Tuesday, August 22, 2023, by Tony Mwaba Kazadi, Minister of Primary, Secondary, and Technical Education (EPST).
More than 400 delegates, including representatives from the Office of the President, the Prime Minister’s Office, Parliament, educational provinces, provincial governments, and educational partnerships within the EPST, are participating.
According to the Secretary General of the EPST, Christine Nepa Nepa, the objectives of this meeting include evaluating the performance of the sub-sector, updating school maps, monitoring and evaluating the implementation of reforms, and finalizing the planning for the 2023–2024 school year.
For Olelo Muluku Selemani, Provincial Minister of Education, Public Service, and Employment in Maniema Province, this meeting will help further improve the quality of education in the DRC.
"I call on parents and their children to provide their unwavering support for all the reforms undertaken in the sub-sector, under the leadership of the President of the Republic and Minister Tony Mwaba," he stated to the Communication Management Directorate of the EPST (DGC-EPST).
Alain Mwimbi Mwimbi, Director of the Lomami 1 Educational Province (PROVED), hopes that following this conference, fieldwork will be strengthened.
"We also hope to ensure accountability in all the actions we will take, with a view to revitalizing the sub-sector in our respective entities," he noted.
As for the national coordinator of Orthodox charter schools in the Congo, Kanda Mbuyamba, the issue of capacity building for the leaders of Congo’s charter schools must be addressed.
“We are asking the Congolese government to take charge of training staff, administrators, and members of our coordination offices, because they are often overlooked in this area,” he stated.
Kanda Mbuyamba nevertheless welcomes the improved collaboration between the EPST and charter schools since Tony Mwaba took office as head of the ministry.
It should be noted that these three-day sessions are primarily technical and results-oriented.
