On Tuesday, August 2, 2023, the Annual Performance Review was officially launched by Territorial Administrator Willy Makumbani in the multipurpose hall of the Kola Institute in Mbanza-Ngungu. The proceedings, which began today, will focus on the theme: “Identifying, analyzing, and acting on performance” in the Primary, Secondary, and Technical Education (EPST) subsector during the 2022–2023 fiscal year. In his address, the provincial director of the Kongo Central 2 EPST educational province, Jean Tshisekedi Kabasele, paid special tribute to President Tshisekedi, the architect of the implementation of free public primary education. He then highlighted the work carried out by the Secretary General of the EPST, Christine Nepa-Nepa, as well as the Inspector General, Jacques Odia, in implementing the Congolese government’s education policy through the Ministry of EPST and its head, Minister Tony Mwaba Kazadi. It should be noted that the general theme of these three days of work is: “Improving the Quality of Education through Good Governance and Accountability.” Several outcomes are expected at the conclusion of these provincial meetings, notably the updating of the school map. As a reminder, the primary objective of the RAP is to enable education authorities and all stakeholders to take stock of all major problems—both identified and identifiable—facing each educational province, with a view to improvement.
