Good governance: 11 school heads suspended in Kasai for embezzlement of operating costs

Eleven public school principals and one sub-provincial administrator have been suspended and subjected to disciplinary proceedings in the Kasaï 1 educational province for embezzlement of school operating funds. This decision was announced in a document signed on February 24, 2024, by the provincial education authority. This measure was taken following an investigation by a joint commission composed of the provincial administration, the Provincial Inspectorate, and DINACOPE. The names of the school principals involved are as follows: 1. Tshibwabwa Bakenge of Tudiunde Primary School (AMIAS) 2. Mukendi Lukadi of Bupole Primary School (42 ECASI) 3. Mingashanga Minga of Gédéon Primary School No. 1 (42 ECASI) 4. Kitambala Giyamba of Mesi Primary School (MESI) 5. Ikapa Pulu from Justin Luwepe Primary School 6. Mbuya Kashitu from Tshisela Primary School (ESSEC) 7. Men Kabamba Anatole from Dibumba Primary School No. 4 (ESSATI) 8. Luthenda Mundeke from Balabala Primary School (57 CPRA) 9. Sona Chadilo Safiata from Kabuyi Primary School (ECI) 10. Tshibondo Ntumba from Kuhuna Primary School (ECSEC) 11. Lukadi Mputu, sub-provincial coordinator of EC/ESEC) 12. Leta Senga Urbain from the Butoke Institute (21' CNCA). These investigations will continue in all state schools, even those that have already been inspected. The goal is to identify all administrators who have mishandled the funds allocated by the state to its schools for proper operations. As a reminder, these measures were taken in accordance with the letter from the Secretary General of the EPST, Christine Nepa Nepa, who had asked the authorities of the National Education sub-sector in all provinces of the DRC to establish commissions to clarify the management of the operating funds that the state allocates to public schools.
