François Muamba, coordinator of the steering committee of the Presidential Council for Strategic Monitoring (CPVS), believes that free primary education is one of the flagship commitments fulfilled by the Head of State, Félix Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo, since he assumed the presidency.
This statement was made during a meeting to assess the degree to which the commitments made by the Head of State during his first term to improve the living conditions of his fellow citizens have been fulfilled.
According to François Mwamba, free primary education ranks first among the landmark achievements on the list of commitments made by the Head of State.
"Even though the constitution provides for free education, those who preceded him as head of the Republic did not implement it. President Félix Antoine Tshisekedi made this promise and he has fulfilled it," stated François Muamba.
It should be noted that the implementation of free primary education has been led for over two years by Professor Tony Mwaba Kazadi, Minister of Primary, Secondary, and Technical Education.
Several reforms have been initiated and implemented by his ministry under the supervision of Prime Minister Sama Lukonde and with the assistance of educational partners to ensure the sustainability of President Tshisekedi’s political commitment.
