World English Language Day: DR Congo’s Ministry of Edu-NC commits to strengthening English at all levels

On April 23 of every year , the world celebrates World English Language Day, a moment dedicated to highlighting one of the most widely spoken languages on the planet.

The topic of this year’s global celebration is “AI and Education: Preserving Autonomy in an Automated World”.

In the Democratic Republic of Congo, the Education and Training Sector Strategy (SSEF) has highlighted a clear commitment to strengthening English at all levels of the national education system.

This reform aims to endow students – the country’s future leaders – with the tools they need to:

– deepen scientific knowledge;

– prepare students to integrate fully into the globalized world;

– support and accelerate national development.

According to SSEF, mastery of the English language is a crucial factor in a nation’s economic growth, and its enhancement at all levels of education is no longer a luxury, but a necessity.
